Sewing Workshops

Have you always wanted to learn how to sew? Now is your chance to learn. We have 3 scheduled sewing workshops for Feb, March and April. These are all easy sewing projects. Our more intermediate - advanced sewing projects will be scheduled after these 3 classes. Please read through all instructions on this page as it highlights what supplies you will need as well as what sewing levels is required for each class.

Toiletry Bag

Feb 15th, 2025 | Daybreak Community Center | 10AM - 4PM

Learn how to make your own toiletry bag. This requires basic sewing skills and knowledge.

You will need the following supplies for this class:

  1. Sewing machine

  2. One yard outer fabric. No stretch fabric.

  3. One yard lining fabric. No stretch fabric.

  4. Fabric scissors

  5. Paper scissors

  6. Sewing pins

  7. Thread that matches the outside canvas fabric. Please choose an all purpose cotton thread.

**Please bring your own lunch and water.

Apron

March 29th, 2025 | Granite Library, SLC | 10:15AM - 4PM

Learn how to sew an apron. This is an intermediate sewing class so if you have no knowledge or have never sewn before, this is not the class for you.

You will need the following supplies for this class:

  1. Two (2) yards of fabric of your choice. NO stretch fabric.

  2. Sewing machine

  3. Fabric scissors

  4. Paper scissors

  5. Sewing pins

  6. Thread that matches the outside canvas fabric. Please choose an all purpose cotton thread.

**Please bring your own lunch and water.

Tote Bag

Learn how to sew an a tote bag. This requires basic sewing skills and knowledge.

You will need the following supplies for this class:

  1. One and half (1.5) yards canvas fabric. No stretch fabric.

  2. One and half (1.5) yards lining fabric. This can be any light to medium weight cotton fabric. No stretch fabric.

  3. Sewing machine

  4. Fabric scissors

  5. Paper scissors

  6. Sewing pins

  7. Thread that matches the outside canvas fabric. Please choose an all purpose cotton thread.
